Idea of Home 2122
Definition of home has remained unchanged as “the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household.” No matter how the design, size and architecture of the home has evolved since past years; its function of holding everyone together under one roof remains untouched.

CONCEPT OF DESIGN
As the purpose of home has remained unchanged; so, does the purpose of design. It’s been believed that connectivity among family members is what keeps the home alive. Similarly, the title of our design “THE CAPSULE HOUSE”, tries to bring that connectivity by forming a bond among the spaces which are designed as per the basic needs of family members by assigning a particular function to a module. Each module has its own purpose fulfilling the basic needs like cooking, sleeping, eating, relaxing, working, etc. Here each module is termed as capsule due to its uniformity in size. Every capsule act as a member of family which is stacked together to give a meaning to the other functional activity just like every family member is stacked under one roof to give a meaning of togetherness to a home.
